~Chapter Challenge~
Besides some great rides, we are getting together for a little “friendly competition”. Besides taking home the coveted Chapter Challenge Roaming Trophy, and bragging rights, this year’s winner will receive a custom made streamer to attach to their Chapter flag.
Chapters will earn points for the following:
Participation: please bring most current membership roster with for verification
Riding: Chapters receive points for every member, guest and motorcycle that makes the journey to SV.
Members who join our guided rides receive points for tagging along!
Donation: Donating gently used or new Harley‐Davidson t‐shirts
Buying stuff: Purchasing t‐shirts from our recycled booth or drinks from our drink stand.
Volunteering: We know you are coming to Sierra Vista to “Rally”, but we sure could use a little help.
We are using a coin based scoring system. We will be giving out coins throughout the Rally. On Sunday morning at the Awards Breakfast, Chapter Director (or representative) will collect up all the coins from their Chapter members. The Chapter with the most coins will be the winner*.
* Since some Chapters are larger than others and some are traveling further than others, to make things fair, we will use a multiplier based on number of registrants, number of actual members and distance. Since Thunder Mountain is hosting this event, it would not be right for us to win our own prizes. Therefore, we will not be eligible to win the Chapter Challenge.
Preliminary Chapter Challenge Scoring Table:
Participation:
1 coin per active member participating, 1 coin per guest, 1 coin per motorcycle
5 coins for every Rider Skills competition participant.
3 coins for every entry into the Dirtiest Bike competition.
Donation: 5 coins per recycled (or new) t‐shirt donated, 5 coins per recycled t‐shirt purchased
Drinks: 1 coin per drink
Rides: 2 coins for every participant in any of our 4 guided rides; sorry, no coins for the self guided ride.
Volunteer: 5 coins per volunteer (list of volunteer positions will be out soon)
Sponsoring Dealership Donation:
Our sponsoring dealership is providing a lot for this rally. Please solicit your sponsoring dealership for prizes, t‐shirts and gift cards that we can use as raffle prizes.
Bring your Chapter flag!!!!
On Sunday AM, before we ride in mass to the Awards Breakfast, we have a great photo op location for all Chapter Members to congregate and take group photos. This will be spectacular! Imagine over 100 motorcycles, 6 or 7 Chapter flags, all in one area with a police escort through Sierra Vista to Naco, AZ.
~Lodging~
There is plenty of lodging available in Sierra Vista. However, you may want to block rooms now since hotels can fill up at any time depending on Fort Huachuca activity. All of the events, except Sunday Brunch, will start and end in Sierra Vista so we highly encourage all Chapters to find lodging in SV. However, we will leave that up to you and your Chapters.
Although there are other hotels in the area, The Best Western (HOG Discount) is wide open and eager to accommodate. Talk to Kristin at (520) 458-8500 and she will line you up.
The Fairfield Inn and Town Place Suites are also giving us a great deal on rooms. Stay at the Fairfield Inn for $89 a night or the Town Place Suites for only $99.
Both hotels are very new, very clean and very biker friendly.
Contact Karin at (520) 439-5900 and let her know you are coming to Sierra Vista for the Rally in the Alley!
Stay tuned for schedule details…
Check our website often since we are putting update out there as we get them. Plan to get to Sierra Vista as early as you can on 24 September!
On behalf of the Thunder Mountain HOG, we look forward to seeing you in September and showing you all a great time!
Enjoy the ride!
See you all in September.
Peace,
